Meter Problem

WHOM DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE A METER PROBLEM?
Meter problems happen – and can cause high bills, erratic supply or any host of energy issues. But whom should you contact if you have a meter or energy supply problem?
CONTACTING YOUR ENERGY RETAILER OR DISTRIBUTOR
The first point of contact for any problems with your gas or electricity supply is to contact your retailer or distributor. The relevant telephone numbers are located in the top right-hand corner of your bill.
For technical problems with your meter or outages, you must contact your gas or power distributor.
For unusually high bills or charges that don’t look right, you must sort this out with your retailer.
If you are experiencing a gas leak, you can call 1800 GAS LEAK (1800 427 532) who will send out a technician to locate and repair the leak.

IF YOU AREN’T SATISFIED, CALL THE OMBUDSMAN
All energy companies in Australia are regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator.
If a retailer did not satisfy your complaint and it is still unresolved, you can call your State’s Energy Ombudsman. They offer free and impartial dispute resolution processes to help sort out your complaint in a quick and satisfactory manner.
